Revelation 4:11

The last day of school, my teacher requested us to bring an object that has a special meaning to us and paint it. Right away the Bible came to my mind. The Author of this book is the Greatest Artist. In my painting the Bible is opened on Revelation 4:11.

My friend, Ryan, just came back from vacation and got some really nice pictures. He asked me to paint some of them. Here is the first one. Ryan loves beach volleyball, so I was not surprised that this picture was his first choice. Enjoy your painting Ryan!
Ice Climber
"48x36" (121 cm x 91 cm)
Acrylics on canvas
Here is a little story behind this painting: my brother, Jacek, is a rock/ice climber (yes, that's him in the picture!). I wanted to surprise him and paint one of his amazing pictures. As I was thinking about it, he came by and said: "Sis, I have a project for you. I want you to paint ME". Knowing his passion, I knew it definitely would not be a portrait...

Lots of fun painting this one! The wood, the flowers, the trees, the mountains... I think I will paint it again. Just for the fun of it!

Getting started
Wow! I have joined the world of painting. I could give a list of people whose "fault" it is. Starting with my Mom who, for years, has been telling me that I should start painting (she remembers my painting when I was just a kid); my brother, Jacek, who "just knows I can do it" and requests me to do a painting on the wall in his baby girl's room; my brother's wife, Dora, who took me to the art show; my friend, Don, who used to be an art teacher and who spent the whole evening telling me about art; and of course my husband, Arek, who after seeing my first painting ran to the store and bought me a pile of canvases, brushes, and paints.
Now I am addicted... I can't look at things the same as I used to. The trees, the clouds, the walls, even shoes!!!
I feel I have passed the point of no return...
