The Volleyball Net

Acrylics on canvas

My friend, Ryan, just came back from vacation and got some really nice pictures. He asked me to paint some of them. Here is the first one. Ryan loves beach volleyball, so I was not surprised that this picture was his first choice. Enjoy your painting Ryan!

Ice Climber

"48x36" (121 cm x 91 cm)
Acrylics on canvas

Here is a little story behind this painting: my brother, Jacek, is a rock/ice climber (yes, that's him in the picture!). I wanted to surprise him and paint one of his amazing pictures. As I was thinking about it, he came by and said: "Sis, I have a project for you. I want you to paint ME". Knowing his passion, I knew it definitely would not be a portrait...

The Front Porch

20"x16" (50 cm x 40 cm)
Acrylics on canvas

Lots of fun painting this one! The wood, the flowers, the trees, the mountains... I think I will paint it again. Just for the fun of it!

Take Me Home

12"x16" (30.5 cm x 40.6 cm)
Acrylics on canvas board

I saw this dog in the Humane Society calendar and it got stuck in my mind. I just had to paint it...

Country Peace

Another piece from the same booklet (painting by Jerry Yarnell).

How much I love places like this - painting them makes me feel as if I were there...

This is a practice piece from the booklet "You Can Paint with Acrylics" (painting by Jerry Yarnell). I dedicate it to my nephew Joel, who requested me to paint him an eagle.

This picture was "kidnapped" by my husband, Arek, while it was still wet on the easle and he took it into his home office.

I took it as a compliment ;)

Mural - Emma's room

Mural

Welcome to my niece's room. Emma (just turned one!) loves her new friends on the wall. She gets sooo excited every time she looks at the picture. And recently I let her "help" me painting.

Getting started

Wow! I have joined the world of painting. I could give a list of people whose "fault" it is. Starting with my Mom who, for years, has been telling me that I should start painting (she remembers my painting when I was just a kid); my brother, Jacek, who "just knows I can do it" and requests me to do a painting on the wall in his baby girl's room; my brother's wife, Dora, who took me to the art show; my friend, Don, who used to be an art teacher and who spent the whole evening telling me about art; and of course my husband, Arek, who after seeing my first painting ran to the store and bought me a pile of canvases, brushes, and paints.

Now I am addicted... I can't look at things the same as I used to. The trees, the clouds, the walls, even shoes!!!

I feel I have passed the point of no return...
